We were criticized for having a go at the Australian Army and told we should be confronting the "pollies." Well, we didn't have a go at the Australian soldiers and anyone who claims we spare Australian pollies, is welcome to prove it with extracts from our web site. I'd suggest people believe what they want to believe. An intellectual laziness that afflicts both 'Left' and 'Right'.

PARIAH's ANZAC poster showed Fretilin freedom fighters (soldiers) who performed the bulk of combat in East Timor. Why should a tribute to them, be an insult to Australian soldiers? You merely proved our point, by ignoring the struggle
of these courageous people.

The revisionism our critics spouted was created by the "pollies" to excuse their involvement in genocide, torture and rape. The pollies use your nationalism and militarism to blind you and bind you.

PARIAH members live in a military town, but the military are not abusing us. Just the racist militarists. Mainly humbled losers of Asian wars.

Please note, I have lived and worked with Vietnam Veterans most of my life. Not all of them are emotional cripples or overcompensating patriots. Some of my best friends....

The contemporary military know better. They have been to East Timor, they have seen and heard first hand what has happened there. The photograph of the East Timorese children on the PARIAH ANZAC Day poster was taken by an Australian soldier.

The continued involvement of the Northern Territory Country Liberal Party in the exploitation of the East Timorese is something we concentrate on because we live here. We know the carpetbaggers personally. They are racist and greedy here. They are racist and greedy in East Timor. They wish to implant their culture of waste there.

The only "foreigners" that consistently get glowing reports (by our activist friends in East Timor) are the Australian soldiers. But for their humanitarian, not their military efforts.

Contemporary Australian political parties cannot deal with the contradictions that are surfacing as a result of the East Timor fiasco. Labor and Liberal have closed ranks, because they both share culpability. Each political party hoping to benefit (when all the fuss has died down) from East Timor's oil and gas resources.

That many groups and individuals refuse to be silenced (including the Australian Army) is a sign the major parties are losing their grip. The Greens are the only major/minor party that has emerged from the ET debacle with any credibility.

Some free political advice to the Labor Party. Publicly divorce yourself from your predecessor's (and the Liberal Party's) policies in East Timor. The NT branch are just too silent on this very intense and local issue.

If we are ever to see a very necessary schism between Australia's past and future...it will be in our distancing ourselves from those responsible for the atrocities in Australia, Vietnam, East Timor... There remains an unbroken sociopolitical link from the current revisionism -- so often seen under fascism -- and the first murder of invasion here.

Right now in Australia, we have a political movement that no-one is controlling. A movement that is diverse, Internationalist and despite what the critics say, coherent. Everyone agrees we know what we don't want. It is a movement that has eclipsed the efforts of both the Right and the Left to "mobilize the masses" in the past thirty years. A leaderless force, justifiably suspicious of the 'ineffectuals' calling for a halt -- For a reappraisal -- For what will certainly be, an impetus-destroying reappraisal. What is there to reappraise?

Star Wars? The IMF? The multinational Oil for Blood companies? The Inbred Judiciaries? Private Schools? Militarism? THE GLOBAL WASTE OF HUMAN POTENTIAL? "No more threats - but more military debts?" The Drug War? (Crack In America?) Mad Politician's Disease? THE DAILY INSULT? The Nuclear Psychle? The Camera Sees All? The Stock Enrage? Genetic Profiteering? Toxic Waste? The Nonviolent punching bags? The Live-Forever Syndrome? Selfish Apathy? The Bipartisan Polisitic Golden Handshake? National Self Delusion? Communication Censorship? The dearth of alternate(sane)energy? Nationalism? The Box? AIDS for Africans and Asians? The alienation of overcrowding? The comrade-unionist/woodchipper/uranium miner? Blaming the Victim? MacPrisons? The Just War? Patriotism? Class? The CHURCH of the three monkeys? The Good Household Drugs? Racism? Public Executions? A Womb With No View? The CUBA of self in an AMERICAN Society? The POLICE MILITANT? The barefaced liar YOU voted for? The barefaced liar YOU didn't vote for? Sport as tribalism - tribalism as Sport? The BLUEBLOODS? The Poor defending the Rich attacking the Poor? The WHITE Jesus? The WASTE?! The WASTE?! The WASTE!?...

Reappraise? Will all this STOP! while we are reappraising? Should we elect spokespeople to fly off in Jumbo Jets? Watch them ... chauffeured off in stretch limos to an assignation with the RICH and POWERFUL? To plead? Cajole? Reason? Threaten? NO! DEMAND THEY STOP THEIR EVIL WAYS...on our colour TV's? Trying to impose order on NATURE is what got us into this mess in the first place. We can not justify doing it to ourselves. There is no Left and Right, just Sane and Insane.

We are the current resurgence of a movement that has always struggled to make life better for everyone. We are prepared to take responsibility for the present system. Unlike the people running it. Complexity (respectable Chaos) theory, is as bad an explanation as any. The ineffectuals and the planet poisoners, have much in common. A love of words. Democracy. Justice. Freedom. Equality. Law.

To describe is to proscribe. No-one started this movement. It was always here. Words will kill it. Subvert. Co-opt. Stall. They always have. It is not as if we have no history, no past inspirations, no coherency in the aims of this 'not so new' movement. The parallel and oppositional movements that make claim to intelligently organized traits have had their chance (WW1, WW2 etc...). A blanket policy of opposing evil in its myriad forms does us.

As to agreeing about what that evil is? Do you enjoy, poverty, rape, murder, exploitation, bigotry, poison, racism, et al ... when it's directed at you?

Anyway - - here is an Australian politician (the aptly named Downer) calling "our Diggers" liars. Get enraged at him!
