People Against Racists Interpreting Australian History AUSTRALIA
DAY AWARD FOR PARIAH CO-ORDINATOR The
day after Australia Day 1999 - PARIAH members were arrested and imprisoned for
"TRESPASS" (at their home of eight years) and "CRIMINAL DAMAGE"
(putting up INVASION DAY posters.) On
Australia Day 2000- NT Police presented PARIAH's Co-ordinator with a summons for
"possession of marijuana." This charge dates from the 8th of September,
1999-when six armed NT Police raided a PARIAH members Cox Peninsula home to seize
PARIAH's computer. The very day, PARIAH's Co-ordinator was charged for casting
chickens at a U.S. Navy Cruiser, during an East Timor protest in Darwin. Once
again, PARIAH members are punished for criticizing Invasion Day/Australia Day
(and exposing the demonstrable racism of the Mandorah Hotel and Kox Kountry Klub
on the Cox Peninsula) by a criminal charge unrelated to LIBEL or DEFAMATION.
Australia
Day Conversation with NT Police Mick: "What about the Aboriginal
man who was bashed at the (Mandorah) Hotel?" Police: "It's
been sorted out." Mick: "Double standards"
Police: (agitated) "It's none of your business!" (Drives off)
"There is a double standard in the enforcement of
law and a double standard in the respect for particular laws." "To
ignore evil (racism) is to be an accomplice to it." Martin
Luther King - Chaos or Community? 1967.
